Jill M. Schafer

Jill Schafer concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial real estate, commercial leasing, land use, renewable energy development, and general business transactions. Her practice encompasses all phases of commercial real estate transactions, from project planning and development through leasing, financing, acquisitions and dispositions, and closing.

Jill has advised developers, property owners, businesses, and nonprofit organizations on a broad range of commercial real estate and business matters throughout her career. Most recently, she served as outside counsel to a renewable energy company, where she advised the company on commercial real estate, renewable energy, corporate, and financing matters. Her work focused on the leasing, acquisition, development, and financing of solar energy projects, while also providing day-to-day legal counsel on corporate governance, commercial contracts, and a broad range of operational and business matters.

Jill has extensive experience representing landlords and tenants in negotiating and documenting commercial leases across a broad range of asset classes, including office, retail, industrial, mixed-use, wireless telecommunications, cannabis, and solar energy leasing. She has also represented clients in zoning, permitting, and land use matters throughout Massachusetts. Drawing on her experience in both private practice and as in-house counsel, Jill provides practical, business-focused legal advice that helps clients efficiently manage risk, navigate complex legal issues, and achieve their business objectives.
