Buying and selling commercial real estate is at the core of many of our firm’s transactions. We represent buyers, sellers, and funders in all stages of property acquisition, disposition, and development.
Among our clients are nonprofit and for-profit developers, businesses of all sizes, and banks and other institutional lenders – all of whom we provide legal counsel involving the purchase and sale of vacant land, properties for adaptive reuse, multifamily units, and real estate portfolios, to name a few.
We advise on the legal issues associated with the purchase and sale of commercial real estate and how to structure transactions that balance risk and reward. Our experience ranges from drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements to handling title matters, coordinating due diligence, identifying and resolving land use and environmental challenges, structuring simple or complicated acquisition financing, and preparing for and finalizing the closing process.
We also negotiate and document all ancillary agreements that pertain to the acquisition and disposition of real estate, such as easements, development agreements, purchase options, and rights of first refusals. We also represent clients involved in the enforcement of their rights under such agreements.
Our team has resolved claims involving real estate purchases and sales. We have successfully concluded litigation involving easements, title matters, land swaps, and development approvals.
We are experienced in the purchase and sale of a wide array of properties, a sampling of which includes:
- Apartments and condominiums
- Commercial and retail buildings
- Vacant land for development
- Mixed-use properties
- Hotels
- Residential tracts
- Industrial projects
- Recreational properties
- Shopping centers and malls
